The best way to waste your pulpit is to preach your own thoughts instead of preaching God’s thoughts. I think pastors are fascinated by trends and fascinated by what the latest sociologist and the latest psychologists and the latest advertising scheme and latest computer and latest media are saying, and they think that’ll be interesting, that’ll be interesting. It is interesting, but it is what people can find out anywhere. What people won’t find out anywhere else except in the pulpit is what does God have to say.
